music reflection-july 22, 2009

Today is the day that will determine our one whole year of music class, and it is the audition. everyone is bringing their instrument to play, and they practiced with it. Some were confident, and some was really nervous. When the class starts, people take their seats and listen to the teacher. Then, we found out that guitar instrument was the first audition.

Before, i was confident, but now i feel very nervous, and i tried to listen to my friends that are performing. they were shaking and nervous, but the teacher understands. Then my turn came. I was really nervous that my hand shakes throughout my performance. But i did quite well, and all my friends applauded at me. I was relieved and i went back to my seat.

After all the audition. the results were announced. some succeded, and some have to move to another instrument class. I was grateful that i succeeded and went to the guitar class. But today, a lot of time was taken by the audition, so we only had 10 minutes for the instrument class. So my guitar teacher just introduced himself and he told us what we are going to learn in his class. From this, i became exited to play my guitar all day to review what i learned in the class, so i will get better day by day.

music reflection- july 21, 2009

This is the first day that we started the music class. We were all very excited. What we have done today was that we were divided into four intrument groups. Piano, Violin, Flute/Saxophone, and Guitar. But the problem was that the space for piano and guitar was full, so what they did was an audition.

We did not have time to prepare for our audition, so we just have to play a song that we learned in the past. But the time was up today, so we had a chance to practice at home tommorow. And for the next class, i decided to play a classic song called romance de amor, which is a really popular classic song in the guitar. I was also told by my teacher that i had to play a classic song. so i decided to play that song. I am optimistic that i can get into the guitar class.

Today, we practiced for the solo performance of each student, and it will be next week. I was listening attentively to the ones that are performing for their practice. From there i try to get a motivation for preparing my song for the solo performance.

By listening and paying attention, i decided to play a classic sad song, because there are some people who are already playing a classic happy song and a pop song. The name of the song that i am going to play is lagrima. The title itself means tears. So that is why i decided to play that song for the solo presentation next week.

Today, ms. Melvina was teaching us about inversion chord. Some of us still don't understand about it, so she refreshes our memory and explained it again throughly. She also explained the inversion chord for the triad chord, which is new

After that, we had time to discuss with our group to give our roles to each member, so everyone got an equal job. We also manage what is going to be in the presentation.
